This is a non exhaustive guide we have prepared for our guests in order to provide advise on where to go and what to do while vacationing with us. We have also mentioned for important location the time and distance to and from our guest house, referring to Google Maps GPS data. Though this list is vetted by us, it doesn’t constitute in any case an advertising for specific locations nor does it exclude numerous places guest can still enjoy as our district is full of wonders and excellent hospitality all around.

    Batroun District - City Old Souks, Great Phoenician Wall, Nabu Museum and more - Sandy Stones are the norm when it comes to the buildings and rustic houses of the town.

    Batroun City Old Souks - Walk the narrow streets paved stones, under the Bougain Villea, Jasmine, and Orange trees. Sit for a coffee, have a drink at the scattered friendly bars.

  • Batroun City

    Distance from Guest House: 16.8 Km, ETA 24 Min.

    Batroun boasts vibrant souks, perfect for exploring local crafts and flavors. Its picturesque harbor offers stunning views and a glimpse into its rich maritime history. Visitors can enjoy pristine beaches, ideal for relaxation, and indulge in diverse culinary experiences at its many excellent restaurants.

  • Jrabta

    Distance from Guest House: 6.4 Km, ETA 12 Min.

    Jrabta is home to the Monastery of Saint Joseph, a significant pilgrimage site where Saint Rafqa spent the final 17 years of her life. Enduring immense suffering with unwavering faith, St. Rafqa, a Lebanese Maronite nun, is revered for her patience and miracles, with her tomb in Jrabta.

    Visit the Monastery of Saints Cyprian and Justina, which have existed since before the 7th century, famously hosting Saint Charbel Makhlouf as a student. The monastery also houses the tombs of Saint Nimatullah Kassab El-Hardini and Blessed Estephan Nehme.

  • Douma

    Maifouk is home to the historic Monastery of Our Lady of Ilige (also known as St. Elige). This monastery, built on a former pagan temple site, served as a patriarchal seat for centuries. It houses the revered 10th-century icon of Our Lady of Ilige. The icon, discovered under multiple paint layers during restoration, is a significant piece of Syriac Maronite art.

    Monastery of Saint Maroun, is a crucial pilgrimage destination in Lebanon, most notably as the final resting place of Saint Charbel Makhlouf. This revered Maronite monk lived an austere life as a hermit at the nearby Hermitage of Saints Peter and Paul. The monastery draws thousands of faithful annually.
